Japanese Sago Palm
The Japanese sago palm or Cycad is a beautifully architectural, evergreen plant with deep green, glossy leaves. Cycads are quite slow growing, but produce a new set of leaves each year on a thick trunk.
PLEASE NOTE there is some leaf marking to older leaves on these plants. As the new leaves mature this will become much less noticeable as the season progresses.
Cycads are very suited to potting in to a planter, as in most areas of the UK they would need to come indoors during the winter. In the milder areas of the UK, for example a sheltered microclimate in central London, you might get away with leaving them out all year round, but at this size we would always recommend bringing cycads in to protect them from the UK winters.
Prefers a free draining gritty soil that is enriched with some organic matter. Full sun or partial shade.
