Peony 'Bartzella' is an intersectional peony (Itoh), meaning it is a cross between a tree peony and an herbaceous peony, the best of both worlds, the tree peony inheritance will give this peony its sturdy structure and height. No need to support this one. Peony Bartzella has beautiful pale lemon, semi-double to double flowers with a central blush of rose, that are sweetly scented. This beautiful peony has been awarded an AGM status by the Royal Horticultural Society.
Plant your peony in a well drained, moisture retentive soil in full sun/light shade. Our Peonies are container grown therefore they can be planted all year round, providing the soil is not waterlogged or frozen. If your soil is fertile there is no need to add fertiliser, but if the soil is very light and nutrient deficient, its a good idea to add some well balanced fertiliser to the planting hole. Plant the peony at the same level as it is in its pot, do not plant too deeply. Cut down fully faded foliage in Autumn. In Spring, its beneficial to apply some well balanced fertiliser around the base of the plant.
Flowering time is in mid-Spring. Peonies are fully hardy.
Height 80cm x 50cm.
