Paeonia 'Red Sarah Bernhardt'

Peony Red Sarah Bernhardt, nothing like the original Peony 'Sarah Bernhardt' at all. Red Sarah has large double, deep pink-purple blooms. This peony flowers well and makes a great cut flower with a lovely fragrance. 

Plant your peony in a well drained, moisture retentive soil in full sun/light shade. Our Peonies are container grown therefore they can be planted all year round, providing the soil is not waterlogged or frozen. If your soil is fertile there is no need to add fertiliser, but if the soil is very light and nutrient deficient, its a good idea to add some well balanced fertiliser to the planting hole. Plant the peony at the same level as it is in its pot, do not plant too deeply. Cut down fully faded foliage in Autumn.  In Spring, its beneficial to apply some well balanced fertiliser around the base of the plant.
