Digitalis ferruginea 'Gelber Herold'

Digitalis ferruginea 'Gelber Herold' has larger flowers than D. ferruginea 'Gigantea' (gigantea refers to the height), like the former it has very similar coloured flowers with a pale yellow lip, and is still loved by the bees. This foxglove looks beautiful planted in the border amongst other perennials and grasses, its tall flower spikes contrasting and adding form and structure, especially lovely planted with Stipa tenuissima. Flowers in June-July.
