Panicum virgatum 'Heavy Metal'

Panicum 'Heavy Metal' is a gorgeous metallic colour and when planted en masse, looks fantastic. Its often used solely on it's own with no other plants as this creates a great impact of mono planting. The soft purple flowers are wonderfully tactile and the whole plant will turn a gorgeous yellow colour in the autumn. As with all deciduous ornamental grasses, cut down hard to the ground in February-March, before the new fresh growth emerges.
