Pennisetum massaicum 'Red Bunny Tails'

'Red Bunny Tails' is a very pretty clump forming, deciduous grass. The lovely soft red flowers are produced from late summer, and the foliage is green and mound forming, making it a neat and compact ornamental grass. Looks great planted in containers and pots or planted into the ground in a mixed border, a beautiful contrast to the other late summer flowers such as Canna, Dahlia and Kniphofia. This beautiful fountain grass is wonderful to stroke and watch as it shimmers in the breeze. Plant in full sun and well drained soil, may require a little protection in the coldest areas. Cut down in late February for the new foliage to emerge and to keep the grass looking in great shape.
