Salvia 'Amistad' is such a beautiful plant and one that is so fashionable at the moment and not surprisingly really as it flowers all summer and is an incredible colour! The large flowers are a very bright purple with near black calyces and flower stems. Salvia 'Amistad' puts on a beautiful display and is a tall plant suitable mid-back of the border, it also grows very well in pots.
This perennial Sage grows well in a sheltered, sunny well drained spot. In colder areas, mulch well in autumn for frost protection or treat as an annual. Leave stems over winter and trim down in late spring. The bees love this plant!
